My Story

From grassroots documentaries - Faces of the Slave Trade, 2007 to festival juggernauts like Kanaval, Toronto International Film Festival -TIFF 2023 Best Canadian BIPOC Film, Cinemania Montreal 2023 People's Choice Award) & Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival 2025 Best Feature Film. Neigeme’s work navigates the intersection of identity, history, and genre. His films have garnered 23+ international awards, including the European Discovery Prize (Pamfir) and Best Documentary (Absolutely Must Go), while collaborations with directors from Ukraine to Senegal reflect his borderless creative ethos. Curated groundbreaking Caribbean cinema for London’s Royal Albert Hall and Poland’s Zubroffka Festival as well as curating his own film festival in London as Program Director of the Caribbean Film Corner (2009–2019).

Pioneered vocational film training through the Kiss Filmmaking Programme in partnership with Secret Cinema UK, shaping industry pipelines across Europe. As a former lecturer in Anglophone Caribbean Literature & Civilisation (Université des Antilles), he decolonized curricula through indigenous perspectives—later channeling this rigour into vocational training programs for Guadeloupe’s tourism sector through the ANPE (Agence Nationale pour l’Emploi) now called the Pôle emploi. This academic lineage now fuels his PhD in Cultural Studies (University of the West Indies, 2025).

Founding the Caribbean’s first skate brand -The Maeda San Skating Company, hosting radio shows on Caribbean identity (RCI Martinique), and serving as Trinidad & Tobago's Youth Ambassador to CARICOM, debating regional economic and social policy before the age of 21 Neigeme embodies polymathic creativity. These ventures converge in his belief that culture thrives at the edge of disruption.
